WOOD YOU LIKE THREE-DIMENSIONAL PUZZLES
Most people magic animals out of hats, but here at Wood You Like we create them from solid blocks of wood.
What's more, we also create all sorts of other objects - musical instruments, company logos, even countries from the same source.
The three-dimensional puzzles are cut from solid blocks of carefully selected timber - usually Walnut, Yew or Elm.
The shape is then cut vertically and horizontally into anything from 70 to 300 interlocking pieces.

Three-Dimensional One-off pieces
All our three-dimensional puzzles are one-off pieces.
Our customers usually suggest a subject - often supplying a drawing or photo - we suggest a suitable timber and get to work.
We have various 3-D puzzles in stock, but we prefer to work to commission.

Wood You Like Three-Dimensional Commissions
The complexity of each piece will depend on the subject and size requested and the number of pieces.
As each piece is unique, we cannot quote a typical price, but generally prices range from between 200 to 500 Euros.

Wood You Like - range of subjects in Three-D
Wood You Like produce a wide range of three-dimensional puzzles. The subject-matter can range from everything from animals to cars to musical instruments to countries to company logos to anything in fact that can reasonably be represented in three-dimensional wood.
Wood You Like three-dimensional puzzles are truly unique gifts.
Even if we wanted to, we could not reproduce an exact copy as each puzzle is cut from a special and unique piece of wood and different types of wood.
Obviously, these puzzles take time to make and to finish. So, please allow plenty of time and contact as soon as possible if you have an idea you wish transformed into a beautiful three-dimensional puzzle.

Wood You Like - wood used in Three_D puzzles
All of the wood used in the three-dimensional examples on this page was sourced in Ireland. The Walnut used in the Squirrel puzzle, for example, came from Strokestown Park in Co Roscommon.
Walnut was also used to produce the Eagle puzzle, the Ireland puzzle and the Car puzzle.
Yew was used to create the Guitar, Pig, Rabbit, Hippo and Cello puzzles on this page.

Wood You Like Kiln-dried wood
Wood is naturally a very durable substance. If not attacked by living organisms, it will last for hundreds or even thousands of year.
Freshly-cut wood contains considerable water, which amounts to from one-third to more than one-half of the total weight. The drying of wood before it is processed into timber is called seasoning. Wood may be seasoned either by air-drying or kiln-drying.
We at Wood You Like air-dry our wood and then kiln-dry it in our own kiln so that we can be sure it has the correct moisture content.

Click on each image on this page to see the three-dimensional puzzle in greater detail. In each you will see that each block of wood was carefully chosen to no only to suit the subject of the puzzle, but also to best be able to show the beauty of the grain.
These three-dimensional puzzles contains hundreds of puzzle pieces; quite often of very small size. Please note that, because of these small pieces and the complexity of the puzzle, these puzzles are not suitable for young children.

We accept Visa and Master Card credit cards. Your credit card is charged in Euro. Your credit card company will convert the amount from Euro to the currency in which you are billed. If you are in Éire you can send a cheque in Euro, made payable to Wood You Like.
All prices quoted are in Euro. Postage is extra and is charged at the current Postal Rate.
